With Cruise Control
- Turn all accessories off. Start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Ensure engine RPM is correct. Turn ignition off. Check accelerator, throttle and speed control cables for sharp bends. Remove cruise control link cover. Check for excessive free play or absence of free play at each cable. If either condition exists adjust suspect cable.
- To adjust accelerator cable, loosen lock nut and turn adjusting nut "A" so when link "A" hits stopper, accelerator cable free play is as specified. See Fig 1. See ACCELERATOR CABLE ADJUSTMENTS (WITH CRUISE CONTROL) table. Tighten lock nut.
- To adjust throttle cable, loosen lock nut and turn adjusting nut "B" so when lever "B" hits link "A", throttle cable free play is as specified. See Fig 1. See ACCELERATOR CABLE ADJUSTMENTS (WITH CRUISE CONTROL) table. Tighten lock nut. Ensure throttle lever-side adjusting bolt is tightened to specified torque. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- To adjust speed control cable, remove speed control cable. Hold link "C" so that lever "C" touches link "B" and install speed control cable. See Fig 2.
