Master Cylinder: Installation

  1. Bench bleed master cylinder. See BENCH BLEEDING MASTER CYLINDER  under BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM. Install NEW vacuum seal in brake booster. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Bleed hydraulic brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM  .
  2. Check master cylinder compensating ports. Remove master cylinder cover and observe brake fluid. Have an assistant press brake pedal. A small squirt or swirling fluid should appear in one or both reservoirs. If no squirting or swirling fluid appears, push rod may be improperly adjusted.
