Description & Operation

Except for anti-lock equipped vehicles, standard equipment consists of double pin floating caliper front disc brakes, rear automatic adjusting drum brakes, combination valve, master cylinder and booster. Front brake caliper is mounted on steering knuckle. Front brake pads have semi-metallic linings. Brake system is diagonally split, with left front and right rear on one hydraulic system, right front and left rear on another.

Parking brake consists of hand lever/cable application of rear service brakes.

Tandem master cylinder is anodized, lightweight aluminum. Bore should not be honed. Removable fluid reservoir is reinforced nylon.
