Hub Rotary Torque Adjustment

CAUTION: Never allow caliper assembly to hang from brake hose. Always support caliper, and wire aside to frame.
  1. Release parking brake. Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel. On models with rear drum brakes, remove brake drum. On models with rear disc brake, remove caliper and brake disc. On all models, turn hub several times to seat bearing.
  2. Wind a rope around hub bolt. Turn hub by pulling rope at a 90-degree angle with a spring balance. Hub rotary torque should be 3.9 lbs. (1.77 kg) or less. If hub rotary torque is not as specified, replace rear hub assembly.
