Removal & Installation: Thermostat: Inspection

Ensure thermostat valve is closed at room temperature. Check for damage or defects. Check for and remove any contamination of rust on valve. Place thermostat in a container of hot water. Thermostat should begin to open at 180°F (82°C) and be fully open, .35" (9 mm), at 203°F (95°C).
