Crankshaft Front Oil Seal: Removal

Remove timing belt. See TIMING BELT . Remove crankshaft sprocket and key. Make a notch in oil seal lip with a knife. Insert a flat-tipped screwdriver wrapped in a shop towel into notched section of oil seal and lever out oil seal. Ensure not to damage crankshaft and oil pump case. Remove front crankshaft seal.
