Reassembly & Installation
- To reassemble, reverse disassembly procedure. Apply engine oil to oil pump rotors. Align inner and outer rotor using previously created dots. Apply a small amount of engine oil to lip of NEW front crankshaft oil seal before initiation. Apply a 1/8" bead of silicone rubber adhesive sealant along oil pump. See Fig 2. Install crankshaft oil seal by tapping it into place using Seal Installer (MD998717).
- Install NEW oil filter bracket and oil pickup tube gasket. Install NEW oil pump "O" rings. Install NEW oil drain plug gasket. Clean oil filter mating surface of filter bracket. Apply engine oil to oil filter "O" ring. Install oil filter until "O" ring contacts bracket. Tighten another 3/4 of a turn. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts to specification.
