Underdrive Clutch Pressure Test

  1. Remove plug and install pressure gauge in underdrive clutch pressure tap. See Figure.
  2. Place gearshift in "3" or "2" position. Allowing front wheels to rotate, accelerate until vehicle speed indicates 30 MPH.
  3. Underdrive clutch pressure should be 110-145 psi (7.7-10.1 kg/cm2 ). This pressure test checks underdrive clutch hydraulic circuit and shift schedule. Remove pressure gauge. Install and tighten pressure tap plug to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
