Fin THERMO & Air Inlet Sensors

Air inlet sensor is located on the inlet side of evaporator and measures inlet air temperature. Fin thermo sensor is located on outlet side of the evaporator and measures outlet air temperature. Sensors provide a voltage signal which is used to control compressor clutch operation, preventing evaporator freezing. Power to compressor clutch is cut, allowing evaporator to thaw, if temperature is 38°F (3.3°C) or less.
