Coolant Temperature & Oil Pressure
- Disconnect suspected sending unit connector from engine component. Turn ignition on. Using 12-volt test light, ground sending unit harness connector terminal. Gauge should read at or above its maximum reading, proving sending unit wiring circuit and gauge are good. If gauge responds as indicated, replace sending unit.
- If gauge does not respond as indicated, gauge is faulty or there is an open in wiring circuit. If original problem was gauge reading at or more than its maximum reading, check for a grounded sending unit or short in wiring circuit. Repair or replace as required.
