Fuel Pressure Release
NOTE:
For reassembly reference, label all electrical connectors, vacuum hoses and fuel lines before removal. Also place mating marks on engine hood and other major assemblies before removal.
CAUTION:
Fuel system is under pressure. Release pressure must be released before servicing fuel system components.
- Loosen fuel tank cap to release pressure. Disconnect injector wiring harness from engine wiring harness. Connect jumper wire from terminal No. 1 of injector harness to ground. See Fig 1 .
- Connect jumper wire to terminal No. 2 of injector harness. See Fig 1 . Touch jumper wire to positive battery terminal for no more than 5 seconds to release fuel pressure. Remove jumper wires and reconnect wiring harness.
