Cylinder Block

  1. Check cylinder bore, out-of-round and taper. Measurements should be taken at .50" (12.7 mm) below top surface of cylinder bore, middle of bore and .50" (12.7 mm) from bottom of cylinder bore.
  2. Check valve lifter bore diameter. Repair or replace cylinder block if not within specification. See CYLINDER BLOCK SPECIFICATIONS  table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.
NOTE: Cylinder bore should be measured at normal room temperature of 70°F (21°C).
