If speedometer reads zero or odometer is blank, and cluster asterisk (*) is flashing, check for CCD serial data bus line problem. See appropriate TESTS W/CODES - BODY CONTROL COMPUTER article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If asterisk is not flashing, check for defective distance sensor (speed sensor) at transmission, sensor connector or sensor wiring circuit to cluster connector.
