Sending Units (Fuel Tank, Temperature & Oil Pressure)
NOTE:
When a problem occurs with any gauge requiring a sensor or sending unit to operate it, before disassembling cluster to test gauge(s), check for loose connections or faulty wiring before replacing gauge or sending unit.
- Disconnect connector lead from sending unit or sensor being tested. Turn ignition on and ground connector lead.
- A grounded input should cause gauge to read at or above its maximum reading. If gauge does not respond as indicated, problem is in gauge or in wiring.
CAUTION:
Disconnect battery cable prior to servicing instrument panel components.
