Low Oil Pressure Warning Light

  1. Turn ignition on. DO NOT  start engine. Low oil pressure warning light should illuminate. If light fails to illuminate, check for a broken or disconnected wire at oil pressure combination unit. See Figure and Figure .
  2. If wire at connector is okay, remove connector from combination oil sending unit. Ground switch (light) terminal of connector to engine using a jumper wire. See Figure .
  3. With ignition on, low oil pressure light should illuminate. If light fails to illuminate, check for a defective bulb or socket in instrument. If light operates, check combination oil sending unit warning light circuit for proper operation. See COMBINATION OIL SENDING UNIT  under TESTING.
