CHECK ENGINE Warning Light

This light activates if an engine problem exists. Vehicle should be checked prior to prolonged driving.

On turbo models, if light activates during full acceleration, excessive boost pressure or excessive engine RPM exists. Back off accelerator and note if light goes off. Vehicle can be driven once boost pressure is normal. Fuel supply will be interrupted if engine is operated with excessive boost pressure for any length of time.
