All RWD Models

  1. Disconnect lead from fuel tank sending unit. Connect one lead of Gauge Tester (C-3826A) to sending unit wire, and other lead to ground. Place pointer of tester to "E" position and turn ignition on.
  2. Gauge should show "EMPTY", plus or minus pointer width. Place tester pointer to "1/2" position. Gauge should read "1/2" on dial, plus or minus pointer width. Place tester pointer to "F" position. Gauge should advance to "FULL" position, plus or minus pointer width.
  3. If gauge responds to above tests but does not operate with sending unit connected, replace sending unit. If gauge does not respond properly to tests, check for loose connections, broken wires, open printed circuit or a faulty gauge.
