Demonstration Mode

  1. Remove key from ignition switch. Turn off headlights (if on) and close all doors. Wait 1 minute. Open driver's door then press and hold door ajar button. Hold button in to hear all messages.
  2. Demonstration mode checks electronic voice alert module, it cannot detect problems in wiring or sensors. If voice alert module does not announce any messages, perform remaining steps.
  3. Make sure connectors at rear of module are tightly installed. Ensure that no terminals are pushed out. Test module battery feed and ground circuit. Test left door ajar switch and wiring. Test left door courtesy lamp switch.
  4. After each circuit is tested or repaired, activate demonstration mode to verify repair. If all circuits test good, replace voice alert module. If system announces all messages upon each left door opening and closing, a ground exists in left courtesy lamp switch or wiring.
