"Your Electrical System Is Malfunctioning, Prompt Service IsRequired" Circuit

  1. Turn ignition on. DO NOT  start engine. Turn on all accessories to create a high discharge load on battery. Disconnect vacuum switch wire located on left inner fender. After a 5 minute period, voice alert message should be heard.
  2. If response is heard, turn off all accessories and connect vacuum switch. Start engine and run at fast idle speed for 5 minutes. No response or message should be heard. If "your electrical system is malfunctioning" message is heard, the charging system needs to be repaired.
  3. If charging system is functioning properly, check battery and ignition power feed to voice alert module for low voltage. Voltage must not be lower than 1 volt. Also check voice alert module ground circuit for high resistance. If battery, ignition and ground circuits are okay, replace voice alert module.
