Lateral RUNOUT - Fwd Models
- Install and tighten lug nuts to hold rotor on hub. Attach dial indicator to suspension so that dial pointer contacts rotor face approximately one inch from outer edge.
- Rotate rotor and record measurement. If runout exceeds specifications, check hub lateral runout as shown in Fig 1.
- Before removing rotor, chalk mark rotor and one wheel stud on high side of runout. Remove rotor and check hub runout. Runout should not exceed .002" (.05 mm).
- If runout exceeds specifications, hub must be replaced. If hub runout does not exceed specifications, install the rotor on hub 180° from original position. Recheck lateral runout. If runout exceeds specifications, refinish or replace rotor as required.
