Engine System Indicators

CAUTION: "ENGINE" warning light coming on indicates severe problem in engine. Engine should be stopped immediately and not operated until problem is corrected.
  1. Engine systems are monitored by both gauges and indicator lights. Oil pressure is displayed on a scale gauge which will vary depending upon engine temperature and oil viscosity. If oil pressure drops very low, oil can symbol will flash on and off. "ENGINE" warning light will also come on.
  2. System voltage indicator will light to center of display or slightly above if minimum load is placed on running engine. Under stop-and-go or heavy load conditions, display will be lighted to slightly below center. Continuous high or low displays indicate system malfunction. Battery symbol will cycle on and off to indicate need for immediate service.
  3. Engine coolant temperature display should only be lighted on a level with, or below, brackets. If display upper segment lights up, temperature symbol will flash on and off. "ENGINE" warning light will also come on.
