Electronic Navigator

  1. With ignition on, the navigator can be used to report on any of 9 different conditions. Time and date display will work even if ignition is off. Readouts can be changed from U.S. to metric by pressing "US/M (1)" button. This button will also cause clock readings to change between 12-hour (AM/PM) format and 24-hour (military) format.
  2. Pressing "RANGE (2)" button will display estimated mileage available with remaining fuel. Reading will change fairly often as changing conditions affect projected fuel efficiency. Pressing "ETA (3)" button will display estimated driving time to arrival for 5 seconds. Display will change to continuous display of estimated time and date of arrival at previously entered destination.
  3. If ETA is more than 100 hours from present, "TRIP OVER 100 HOURS" will be displayed. If destination has been passed, "TRIP COMPLETED" will be displayed. ETA is calculated from average trip speed at low speeds. At high or normal speeds, current vehicle speed is used.
  4. "DEST (4)" button displays remaining miles to preset destination. To enter distance before trip, press "DEST" button and, within 5 seconds, press "SET" button. Display should show 0 miles. Using numbers on buttons, enter distance to destination in left to right sequence. Press "SET" button again to begin counting process. Maximum distance that may be entered is 9999 miles. If destination is passed, display will show "TRIP COMPLETED" and sound a short tone.
  5. Pressing "TIME (5)" button or starting car will cause continuous display of time of day, day of week, month of year, and day of month. To reset display, press "TIME" button and, within 5 seconds, "SET" button. Arrow appears in display indicating hours should be set. Holding down "RESET" button will advance time setting. Holding down "US/M" button will back up setting.
  6. When hour is set, press "SET" again. Arrow will point to minutes. Set minutes. Repeat procedure for day, month, and date. Display portions can be skipped by pressing "SET" button repeatedly until arrow points to function needing change. When all changes are completed, press "SET" once. Setting is now locked in.
  7. Pressing "ECON (6)" button causes average miles per gallon (since last rest) to be displayed for 5 seconds. Display then changes to continuous display of present MPG (miles per gallon). Press "RESET" button while average MPG is displayed to reset average fuel efficiency. Average fuel efficiency reading is updated every 16 seconds while present fuel efficiency is updated and displayed every 2 seconds.
  8. Pressing "FUEL (7)" button displays number of gallons used since last reset. Maximum amount of gallons that can be displayed is 999.9 gallons. Display will be updated every few seconds. Press "RESET" button within 5 seconds of pressing "FUEL" button to reset display to 0.
  9. Pressing "SPD (8)" button will show average MPH since last reset. Reading is updated at least once every 8 seconds. Maximum reading is 85 MPH. Press "RESET" button within 5 seconds after pressing "SPD" button to reset average speed display. As ETA function is based upon average speed, resetting average speed after entering distance to destination is good practice for accuracy.
  10. Pressing "TRIP" button will continuously display accumulated trip miles since last reset. Maximum display will be 999.9 miles and then trip display automatically resets to 0. Display is updated every half second. Press "RESET" within 5 seconds of pressing "TRIP" button to reset trip counter.
  11. Pressing "E/T (0)" button will display amount of driving time (ignition on) since last reset. Time is displayed in minutes and seconds for 1st hour after reset, and then in hours and minutes for remainder of time. To reset, press "RESET" within 5 seconds of pressing "E/T" button. Display will also reset automatically after 99 hours and 59 minutes.
  12. "RESET" button can be used to clear either individual functions or all trip information at once. To clear navigator of all trip information at once, press "RESET" twice within 5 seconds of pressing any of the following: "ECON", "FUEL", "SPD", "TRIP", or "E/T." Display will then show "TRIP RESET" for 5 seconds.
