Buttons & Warning Lights
- Turn signal indicators flash when outside lights are flashing. Fuel pacer light is a small triangular light used to indicate most economical upshift point for models with manual transaxle. Brake system warning light comes on during braking if failure occurs in either half of dual system. This light also comes on when parking brake is applied and ignition is on.
- Seat belt reminder light comes on and tone sounds for 8 seconds if drivers seat belt is not fastened when ignition is turned on. High beam indicator comes on when headlights are on high beam. Power loss light comes on to indicate that a driveability problem has been detected by system diagnostics. Vehicle performance may be unreliable until system is checked and repaired.
- If power loss light comes on during boost from a turbocharger, overboost or excessive engine RPM is indicated. Backing off on accelerator should allow light to go off. If engine is operated with excessive boost pressure for any length of time, fuel supply will be interrupted to prevent engine damage. Once boost pressure is within normal range, driving may be continued.
- "TRIP" button will cause odometer display to change from a cumulative vehicle mileage to trip mileage (distance traveled since last trip reset). Pressing trip button a second time will return odometer cumulative display. "TRIP RESET" button will reset trip reading to 0 if depressed while trip reading is displayed. "US MET" button will select U.S. or metric units for speedometer and odometer displays in both normal and trip modes.
