Axle Shaft & Bearing

Remove wheel and drum, then disconnect brake line at wheel cylinder. Work through axle shaft flange to remove retainer nuts and use puller C-3917A to pull axle shaft and rear brake assembly. Carefully remove brake assembly from axle shaft without damaging seal contact area. Remove seal from housing. Use puller C-3971A to remove bearing from axle shaft. A piece of shim stock retained by rubber band may be used to protect seal journal. Install new bearing cup, cone and collar and tighten bolts until seated properly.
