Removal Procedure

  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Fuel Pressure Relief
  2. Drain the fuel tank. Fuel Tank Draining
  3. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection

    Disengage the retaining tabs.

    Electrical Connector (1) - Disconnect

    Battery Positive Cable Nut (1) - Remove [2x]

  8. Engine Wiring Harness Terminal Nut (2) - Remove
  9. Body Wiring Harness Terminal Nut (3) - Remove [4x]
  10. Battery Positive Cable (4) - Remove
  11. Engine Wiring Harness (5) - Remove
  12. Body Wiring Harness (6) - Remove

    Battery Positive Post Clamp Nut (1) - Loosen

  14. Disengage the retaining tabs.

    Battery Hold Down Nut (1) - Remove

  17. Battery Hold Down Bolt (2) - Remove
  18. Battery Hold Down Retainer (3) - Remove

    Battery Hold Down Bolt (1) - Remove

    Battery (1) - Remove

    Intake Air Duct Retainer (1) - Remove [2x]

  23. Release the 2 retainer tabs (arrows) to remove the intake air duct.

    Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator Vacuum Control Solenoid Valve Filter Hose (1) @ Air Cleaner Assembly (2) - Remove

    Electrical Connector (1) - Disconnect

  27. Wiring Harness Retainer (2) - Remove

    Air Cleaner Clamp (1) - Loosen

  29. Air Cleaner Outlet Front Duct (2) @ Air Cleaner Assembly (3) - Remove

    Air Cleaner Assembly (1) - Remove

    Battery Tray Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]

  32. Disconnect any harness retainers attached to the battery tray.
  33. Battery Tray (2) - Remove

    Battery Tray Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

  35. Battery Tray Bracket Nut (2) - Remove
  36. Disconnect any harness retainers attached to the battery tray bracket.
  37. Battery Tray Bracket (3) - Remove
  38. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  39. Remove the left front, left rear and right rear tires. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation

    Catalytic Converter Nut (1) - Remove [2x]

    Exhaust Hanger Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove

  42. Exhaust Muffler (2) @ Exhaust Insulator (3) - Separate

    Exhaust Muffler (1) @ Exhaust Insulator-Left Side (2) - Separate

  46. Catalytic Converter Gasket (2) - Remove and DISCARD

    Evaporative Emission Canister Air Inlet Hose (1) @ Rear Wheelhouse Panel Bracket (2) - Separate

    Release the retaining tab to separate the evaporative emission canister air inlet hose.

    Fuel Tank Filler Hose Clamp (1) @ Fuel Tank Filler Hose - Loosen

  64. Fuel Tank Filler Hose (2) @ Fuel Tank - Disconnect
  65. Fuel Tank Vapor Pipe (3) @ Fuel Tank Filler Pipe - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

    Fuel Feed Pipe-Fuel Tank (1) @ Fuel Feed Pipe-Underbody - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  67. Evaporative Emission Pipe-Fuel Tank (2) @ Evaporative Emission Pipe-Underbody - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

    Place a suitable adjustable jack under the fuel tank.

  69. Fuel Tank Strap Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]
  70. Fuel Tank Strap (2) - Remove [2x]

    Fuel Tank (1) - Remove

    Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Front Brake Pipe Fitting (1) @ Brake Pressure Modulator Valve - Remove

  73. Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the brake pressure modulator valve port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
  74. Rear Brake Intermediate Pipe Fitting (2) @ Brake Pressure Modulator Valve - Remove
  75. Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the brake pressure modulator valve port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
  76. Brake Pipe Clip (3) - Release

  80. Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
