Removal Procedure

  1. Drain and properly dispose of the brake fluid in the master cylinder reservoir.
  2. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection

    Disengage the retaining tabs.

  4. Battery Distribution Engine Compartment Fuse Block Cover (1) - Remove

    Electrical Connector (1) - Disconnect

    Battery Positive Cable Nut (1) - Remove [2x]

  7. Engine Wiring Harness Terminal Nut (2) - Remove
  8. Body Wiring Harness Terminal Nut (3) - Remove [4x]
  9. Battery Positive Cable (4) - Remove
  10. Engine Wiring Harness (5) - Remove
  11. Body Wiring Harness (6) - Remove

    Battery Positive Post Clamp Nut (1) - Loosen

  13. Disengage the retaining tabs.

    Battery Hold Down Nut (1) - Remove

  16. Battery Hold Down Bolt (2) - Remove
  17. Battery Hold Down Retainer (3) - Remove

    Battery Hold Down Bolt (1) - Remove

  19. Battery Hold Down Retainer (2) - Remove

    Battery (1) - Remove

    Intake Air Duct Retainer (1) - Remove [2x]

  22. Release the 2 retainer tabs (arrows) to remove the intake air duct.

    Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator Vacuum Control Solenoid Valve Filter Hose (1) @ Air Cleaner Assembly (2) - Remove

    Electrical Connector (1) - Disconnect

  26. Wiring Harness Retainer (2) - Remove

    Air Cleaner Clamp (1) - Loosen

  28. Air Cleaner Outlet Front Duct (2) @ Air Cleaner Assembly (3) - Remove

    Air Cleaner Assembly (1) - Remove

    Battery Tray Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]

  31. Disconnect any harness retainers attached to the battery tray.
  32. Battery Tray (2) - Remove

    Battery Tray Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

  34. Battery Tray Bracket Nut (2) - Remove
  35. Disconnect any harness retainers attached to the battery tray bracket.
  36. Battery Tray Bracket (3) - Remove

    Electrical Connector (1) @ Brake Fluid Level Sensor (2) - Disconnect

  38. Electrical Connector (2) @ Electronic Brake Control Module (2) - Disconnect

    NOTE:

    Cap the brake pipe fittings to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

    Brake Pipe Fitting (1) @ Brake Pressure Modulator Valve - Remove [4x]

    Brake and Accelerator Pedal Bracket Nut (1) - Remove [2x]

    Instrument Panel Tie Bar Bolt (1) - Remove

    Front Floor Console Rear Air Duct Retainer (1) - Remove

  44. Floor Front Air Outlet Duct - Left Side (2) - Remove

    NOTE:

    Push the master cylinder because pulling the pedal too backward may damage the brake pedal position sensor.

    Brake Pedal Push Rod (3) @ Brake Pedal (2) - Disconnect

    Release the 2 retainer tabs and pull the brake pedal a bit to facilitate the removal.

  46. Brake Pedal Push Rod Retainer (1) @ Brake Pedal Push Rod (3) - Remove and DISCARD

    Brake Master Cylinder - (1) Remove

    Electronic Brake Control Module Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]

  49. Electronic Brake Control Module (2) - Remove
