Removal Procedure
When a lift gate hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.
When a liftgate hydraulic system component is removed, installed or disconnected, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle, liftgate hydraulic system, or personal injury.
DO NOT exceed the limit of the liftgate power assist actuator ball socket joint's free motion during installation to prevent possibility of damage to the actuator.

Use a flat-bladed tool to open the quarter window trim finish panel bolt cap.
- Quarter Window Trim Finish Panel Bolt - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]
- Body Lock Pillar Upper Trim Panel - Left Side and Right Side (2) - Remove [2x]
- Use a flat bladed plastic trim tool.
- Grasp and gently pull up on the body lock pillar upper trim panel.

Roof Rail Rear Assist Handle Bolt - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [4x]
- Fold the assist handle downward and hold.
- Use a small flat-bladed tool to open the assist handle covers to access the bolts.
- Roof Rail Rear Assist Handle - Left Side and Right Side (2) - Remove [2x]
Headlining Trim Panel Retainer (1) - Remove [2x]
- Lower the headlining trim panel (2) enough to gain access to the liftgate wiring harness electrical connector.
Disconnect the electrical connectors (1) and washer hose (2).

Remove the 4 metal clips (1) at the ends of the liftgate strut (2).
- Liftgate Strut-Both Sides (2) - Remove [2x]
Liftgate Hinge Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]
- With the aid of an assistant, remove the liftgate. (2)
Use a flat bladed plastic tool to remove.
