Circuit/System Verification

    NOTE:

    A dead, disconnected, or replaced battery can cause this DTC to set and odometer to be blank or incorrect. Driving the vehicle will usually correct the odometer mismatch. Drive the vehicle 1 - 2 miles before attempting a repair or diagnosis.

  1. Ignition - On/Vehicle - In Service Mode
  2. Verify DTC U197E is not set
    • If the DTC is set 
    1. Perform all necessary programming and setup procedures for the control module: Control module that has set the DTC
    2. Verify the DTC does not set.
      • If the DTC sets - Replace the component: Control module that has set the DTC
      • Go to next step: If the DTC is not set
    3. All OK.
    • Go to next step: If the DTC is not set 
  3. A fault is not currently present and may be an intermittent condition
