Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Disconnect the appropriate electrical connector: LIN Bus 1
- K20 Engine Control Module
- K71 Transmission Control Module
- Ignition - On/Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Test for less than 1 V between the test points: Serial Data circuit terminal 31@K71 Transmission Control Module & The other end of the circuit
- If greater than 1 V
Repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 1 V
- If greater than 1 V
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Serial Data circuit terminal 31@K71 Transmission Control Module & Ground
- If less than infinite resistance
Repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- If less than infinite resistance
- Test for less than 10 ohms between the test points: Serial Data circuit terminal 31@K71 Transmission Control Module & The other end of the circuit
- If greater than 10 ohms
Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 10 ohms
- If greater than 10 ohms
- Replace the component: K71 Transmission Control Module
- Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets
Replace the component: K20 Engine Control Module
- Go to next step: If the DTC does not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
NOTE:
It may take up to 2 min for all vehicle systems to power down before an accurate ground or low reference circuit continuity test can be performed.
