| Control - Terminal 9 | The output circuit is switched to 12 V to activate the component. |
| Control - Terminal 11 | The output circuit is switched to ground to enable the component(s). |

| E53 Reductant Tank Heater | E53 is part of the component: A38 Reductant Pump and Sensor Assembly The reductant freezes at -11°C (-12°F).To prevent the reductant from freezing, the reductant tank and the reductant line are heated. |
| K20 Engine Control Module | The control module contains a microprocessor used to process input data to control outputs. The control module controls a series of actuators to ensure optimal engine performance. The control module does this by reading values from a variety of sensors, interprets the data and adjusts the engine actuators accordingly. |
