Circuit/System Verification
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Ignition - On/Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Verify there are no DTCs set, except DTC P00DF, related to the following system/component:
- B34K Charge Air Cooler Coolant Temperature Sensor - Inlet - Circuit DTCs
- B193A Charge Air Cooler Air Temperature Sensor - Inlet
- B193B Charge Air Cooler Air Temperature Sensor - Outlet
- If any of the DTCs are set
- Go to next step: If none of the DTCs are set
- Verify the scan tool Freeze Frame/Failure Records parameters listed below are within 20°C (36°F) of the following parameter: Start-Up Charge Air Cooler Coolant Inlet Temperature Sensor
- Start-Up Charge Air Cooler Temperature
- Start-Up Charge Air Cooler Temperature Sensor 2
- If not within 20°C (36°F) of each other
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Disconnect the electrical connector: B34K Charge Air Cooler Coolant Temperature Sensor - Inlet
- Disconnect the appropriate electrical connector: K20 Engine Control Module
- Test for less than 2 ohms between the test points: Low Reference circuit terminal 1@Component harness & The other end of the circuit@Control module harness
- If 2 ohms or greater - Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 2 ohms
- Test for less than 2 ohms between the test points: Signal circuit terminal 2@Component harness & The other end of the circuit@Control module harness
- If 2 ohms or greater - Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 2 ohms
- Test or replace the component: B34K Charge Air Cooler Coolant Temperature Sensor - Inlet
- Go to next step: If within 20°C (36°F) of each other
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets
Repeat the procedure starting at step 1
- Go to next step: If the DTC is not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
