Circuit/System Verification

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Engine - Idling
  2. Verify DTC P0689, P0690, P16BC, P16BD, P16BF is not set.
    • Go to next step: If none of the DTCs are set 
  3. Verify DTC P0045, P0047, P0048, P006E, P169F is not set.
    • If the DTC sets 

      Refer to: Circuit/System Testing

    • Go to next step: If the DTC does not set 
  4. Perform the scan tool control function: Turbocharger Vane Position - Increase & Decrease

    Verify the scan tool parameter:

    • Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Control Circuit High Test Status = Not Run or OK
    • Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Control Circuit Low Test Status = Not Run or OK
    • Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Control Circuit Open Test Status = Not Run or OK
    • Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Control Circuit Shorted Test Status = Not Run or OK
    • If not the specified state 

      Refer to: Circuit/System Testing

    • Go to next step: If the specified state 
  5. Perform the action while monitoring the parameter:
    • Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Control Circuit High Test Status = Not Run or OK
    • Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Control Circuit Low Test Status = Not Run or OK
    • Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Control Circuit Open Test Status = Not Run or OK
    • Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Control Circuit Shorted Test Status = Not Run or OK
      • Wiggle the harness and connector(s): M103 Turbocharger Vane Position Actuator
      • Wiggle the harness and connector(s): K20 Engine Control Module
    • If not the specified state 

      Repair as necessary - Wiring/Terminal(s)/Electrical Connector(s)

    • Go to next step: If the specified state 
  6. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.

    Verify the DTC does not set.

    • If the DTC sets 

      Refer to: Circuit/System Testing

    • Go to next step: If the DTC does not set 
  7. All OK.
