Installation Procedure

- NOTE:
A NEW emission reduction fluid injector will have a new gasket as part of assembly (POA).
Exhaust System Front Gasket (3) - Install NEW
- Reductant Fluid Injector (2) - Install
- Emission Reduction Fluid Injector Clamp (1) - Install NEW - Fastener Specifications
Charge Air Cooler Coolant Hose (6) - Install
- Charge Air Cooler Coolant Hose Connector Clamp (5) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
- Fuel Cooler Coolant Cooler Inlet Hose (4) - Install
- Charge Air Cooler Coolant Hose Connector Clamp (3) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
- Retainer (2) - Install [2x]
- Electrical Connector (1) - Connect
Emission Reduction Fluid Exhaust Front Pipe Injector Supply Pipe (1) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
Emission Reduction Fluid Exhaust Front Pipe Injector Supply Pipe Insulator (1) - Install
- Fill the charge air cooling system. Charge Air Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716 LM2) , or Charge Air Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static LM2) , or Charge Air Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716 LM2 with RC1) , or Charge Air Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static LM2 with RC1)
- Check for leaks and ensure the emission reduction fluid injector joint is properly sealed. Charge Air Cooler Diagnosis
- Perform the NOx catalyst reductant loading reset. Nitrogen Oxides Catalytic Converter Reductant Loading Reset
NOTE:
Prior to install the injector, make sure the parts are perfectly clean. If required, clean out with distilled water in order to dissolve any residual crystal.
NOTE:
The full system air leak test procedure from charge air cooler diagnosis allows the emission reduction fluid injector connection to be pressurized for leak inspection.
