Front Floor Console Description and Operation

Fixed Console (D07) 

When the appropriate switch is used on the front overhead console, the body control module will receive a request to command the move the center console to move forward or backward, the body control module will then send a serial data message to the front floor console control module which will then perform the forward or rearward function

The center console has an internal storage compartment accessed by pressing a mechanical latch in the front to lift the armrest assembly. Depending on options there may be a removable storage tray, auxiliary jack, and USB ports inside.

Sliding Center Console (DCH) 

The center console can be positioned rearward to access a lower storage compartment. The console movement is controlled through a switch in the overhead console. The overhead console sends the requested position through serial data to the body control module. The body control module communicates the requested movement over serial data to the front floor console control module to perform the requested movement. The floor console control module commands a motor that moves the console via cable linkage.

The floor console control module provides force limitation. In the event of an obstruction the console will stop and reverse direction.

While the console is in the rearward position the arm rest can be positioned forward manually. The storage compartment in not accessible while the armrest is in the forward position.
