Installation Procedure
If NEW threaded components are being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded components are reused, prepare the threaded components using the following steps:
- Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the components using a lint free cloth.
- Thread the cleaned components into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
- Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the components. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.
- Rear Brake Caliper Bracket (1) - Install
- Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
Rear Brake Caliper Guide Pin Boot (1) - Install [2x]
- Rear Brake Caliper Guide Pin (2) - Install [2x]
Rear Disc Brake Pad Spring (1) - Install [4x]
Rear Disc Brake Pad (1) - Install [2x]
Rear Brake Caliper (1) - Install
- NOTE:
DO NOT use any air tools to remove or install the guide pin bolts. Use hand tools ONLY.
Rear Brake Caliper Guide Pin Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
Electrical Connector (1) @Rear Parking Brake Actuator - Connect
Rear Disc Brake Pad Wear Sensor (2) - Install
- Connect the electrical connector. (3)
- Rear Brake Bleeder Valve Cap (1) - Install
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Steel Wheel) , or Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Aluminum Wheel)
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (9C1/5W4) , or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
- Calibrate the park brake. Park Brake Calibration
