Installation Procedure

    If NEW threaded components are being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded components are reused, prepare the threaded components using the following steps:

    1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the components using a lint free cloth.
    2. Thread the cleaned components into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
    3. Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the components. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers 
    4. Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.
  2. Front Brake Caliper (1) - Install
  3. Front Brake Caliper Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications 
  4. Remove the plug from the brake hose outlet.
  5. Remove the plug the front brake caliper inlet.

    Front Brake Hose Washer (2) - Install NEW [2x]

  7. Front Brake Hose (3) @Front Brake Caliper - Install
  8. Front Brake Hose Fitting (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Front Disc Brake Pad (1) - Install [2x]

    Front Brake Caliper Guide Pin (1) - Install [2x]

    Front Disc Brake Pad Retaining Spring (1) - Install

    Front Brake Caliper Guide Pin Clip (1) - Install [2x]

    {If equipped} Position the front disc brake pad wear sensor wiring harness (1) into place.

  14. {If equipped} Front Disc Brake Pad Wear Sensor Retainer (2) - Install

    {If equipped} Front Disc Brake Pad Wear Sensor (1) @Front Brake Caliper - Install

  16. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (9C1/5W4) , or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
  17. Bleed the brake system. Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (J61) , or Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (J49/J55)
  18. Check for brake system leaks.
  19. Install the front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Steel Wheel) , or Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Aluminum Wheel)
  20. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
  21. Fill the brake master cylinder reservoir to the maximum-full level with GM approved brake fluid from a clean, sealed brake fluid container. Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling
