Installation Procedure

  1. Apply approximately 0.09 - 0.15 g (0.003 - 0.005 oz)  of anti-seize lubricant to each end of the disc brake pad abutments which contact the brake caliper. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

    Front Disc Brake Pad Retaining Spring (1) - Install

    Front Disc Brake Outer Pad (1) - Install

    Front Disc Brake Inner Pad (1) - Install

    Front Disc Brake Pad Pin (1) - Install [2x]

    Front Brake Caliper (1) - Install

    If NEW threaded components are being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded components are reused, prepare the threaded components using the following steps:

    1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the components using a lint free cloth.
    2. Thread the cleaned components into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
    3. Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the components. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers 
    4. Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.
  8. Front Brake Caliper Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications 
  9. Remove the plug from the brake hose outlet.
  10. Remove the plug the front brake caliper inlet.

    Front Brake Washer (2) - Install NEW [2x]

  12. Front Brake Hose (3) - Install
  13. Front Brake Hose Fitting (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  14. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (9C1/5W4) , or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
  15. Bleed the brake system. Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (J61) , or Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (J49/J55)
  16. Check for brake system leaks.
  17. Install the front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Steel Wheel) , or Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Aluminum Wheel)
  18. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
