Rear Seat Stuck in Fold Flat Position

Step Action Yes No
1 Verify that the customer's concern is present.
Does the vehicle operate normally?
System OK Go to Step 2 
2 Did you verify if any related service bulletins exist for the concern and perform the necessary inspections? Go to Step 3  Search for any bulletins related to your issue. Review and perform any applicable tasks as outlined by the bulletin.
3 It is possible that the latches are not fully engaged to the striker pins on the tracks.

    Release the recliner release handle (1) to release the latches and tumble the seat forward.

    Bring the seat back down with adequate force to ensure the latches are fully engaged.

  3. Apply force to both inboard and outboard rear corners of the seat to ensure floor latches are engaged.
  4. Did you find and correct the concern?
System OK Go to Step 4

  1. Remove the rear seat riser inner finish cover - outboard. Rear Seat Riser Inner Finish Cover Replacement - Outboard (40 Percent, Bucket) , or Rear Seat Riser Inner Finish Cover Replacement - Outboard (60 Percent) 
  2. Remove the rear seat riser inner finish cover - inboard. Rear Seat Riser Inner Finish Cover Replacement - Inboard (Bucket) , or Rear Seat Riser Inner Finish Cover Replacement - Inboard (60 Percent) , or Rear Seat Riser Inner Finish Cover Replacement - Inboard (40 Percent)

    Verify the latch cables (1) are correctly attached to the latches. Barrel end fittings are full installed into the plastic housing and snap fittings are fully installed into the holes in the latch stamping.

  4. Reinstall components as necessary.
  5. Did you find and correct the concern?
System OK Go to Step 5

  1. Remove the rear seat recliner outer finish cover - outboard. Rear Seat Recliner Outer Finish Cover Replacement - Outboard

    Verify the latch cables (1) are correctly attached to the release levers and the levers are not bent.

  3. Reinstall components as necessary.
  4. Did you find and correct the concern?
System OK Go to Step 2
