Extension Housing Install
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
Install the O-ring (1) onto the propeller shaft.
- Install the extension housing assembly gasket (4), the extension housing assembly (2), the extension housing stud (5), and the extension housing bolts (3). Tighten the bolts and stud to 33 N.m (24 lb ft).
Install the manual shift detent bolt (1), detent spring (2) and the detent (3).
- Apply thread sealant to the detent spring cover bolt (1). Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers (M13)
Tighten the bolt to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).
Install the shift interlock detent assembly (1).
- Apply thread sealant to the detent (1). Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers (M13)
Tighten to 40 N.m (30 lb ft)
Install the manual transmission control lever seal (5).
- Install the manual transmission shift lever shaft joint (3) and manual transmission control lever pin (4).
- Install the manual transmission control lever retainer (2) and manual transmission control shaft boot (1).
Using DT-39441 installer, install the propeller shaft transmission yoke (1).
Install the propeller shaft transmission yoke flange washer (2).
- Install the J-45012 holder with the mounting bolts to the propshaft transmission yoke (3).
- Apply threadlocker to the nut (1). Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers (M13)
- Using a socket wrench, Install the propeller shaft transmission yoke nut (1) and tighten to 140 N.m (103 lb ft).
- Remove the J-45012 holder.
NOTE:
Ensure the speed sensor reluctor wheel is aligned and seated on the output shaft while installing the extension housing.
