Circuit/System Verification

- Ignition - On/Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Verify DTC DTC P0641, P0651, P0697, or P06A3 is not set.
- If any of the DTCs are set
Refer to: DTC P0641, P0651, P0697, or P06A3
- Go to next step: If none of the DTCs are set
- If any of the DTCs are set
- Verify DTC P2016, P2017, U064F is not set.
- If only DTC P2016, P2017 is set
Replace the component: Q22 Intake Manifold Tuning Solenoid Valve
- If DTC U064F and one or more of the DTCs P2016, P2017 is set
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If none of the DTCs are set
- If only DTC P2016, P2017 is set
- Perform the scan tool control function: Intake Manifold Runner Control Valve - Increase & Decrease
Verify the scan tool parameter: Intake Manifold Runner Control Valve Position Sensor = Desired Intake Manifold Runner Control Valve Position
- If not the specified state
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If the specified state
- If not the specified state
- Verify the scan tool parameter: Intake Manifold Runner Control Valve Position Sensor = The value should not spike or drop out.
Perform the action while monitoring the parameter:
- Wiggle the harness and connector: Q22 Intake Manifold Tuning Solenoid Valve
- Wiggle the harness and connector: K20 Engine Control Module
- If the value spikes or drops out
Repair as necessary - Wiring/Terminal(s)/Electrical Connector(s)
- Go to next step: If the value does not spike or drop out
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets

- Go to next step: If the DTC does not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
