Circuit/System Verification

Ignition - On/Vehicle - In Service Mode
Verify DTC DTC P0641, P0651, P0697, or P06A3 is not set.
- If any of the DTCs are set
  Refer to: DTC P0641, P0651, P0697, or P06A3
- Go to next step: If none of the DTCs are set
Verify DTC P02E8, P02E9, U0654 is not set.
- If only DTC P02E8, P02E9 is set
  Replace the component: Q20 Intake Air Flow Valve
- If DTC U0654 and one or more of the DTCs P02E8, P02E9 is set
  Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If none of the DTCs are set
Perform the scan tool control function: Intake Air Flow Control Valve Position - Increase & Decrease
Verify the scan tool parameter: Intake Air Flow Control Valve Position = Desired Intake Air Flow Control Valve Position
- If not the specified state
  Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If the specified state
Verify the scan tool parameter: Intake Air Flow Control Valve Position = The value should not spike or drop out.
Perform the action while monitoring the parameter:
- Wiggle the harness and connector: Q20 Intake Air Flow Valve
- Wiggle the harness and connector: K20 Engine Control Module
- If the value spikes or drops out
  Repair as necessary - Wiring/Terminal(s)/Electrical Connector(s)
- Go to next step: If the value does not spike or drop out
Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets
  Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If the DTC does not set
All OK.
