Removal Procedure
- Relieve the fuel system pressure before servicing any fuel system connection. Turn OFF the engine for 30 seconds before proceeding. This will purge the fuel pressure from the complete fuel system.
Remove the fuel line retainer (1).
- WARNING:
Wear safety glasses when using compressed air, as flying dirt particles may cause eye injury.
Using compressed air, blow any dirt or debris from around the connection (1).
Depending on the fuel line size and ability to access the fitting, choose the appropriate tool: CH-41769 fuel line disconnect tool set or CH-44581 fuel line disconnect tool. Insert the CH-41769 fuel line disconnect tool set or CH-44581 fuel line disconnect tool (1) into the female connector (2), then push inward to release the locking tabs.
Pull the fuel line connection (1) apart.
- Use a clean shop towel in order to wipe off the male connection end.
- Inspect both ends of the fitting for dirt and burrs. Clean or replace the components as required.

If necessary, remove rust or burrs from the fuel pipes with an emery cloth. Use a radial motion with the fuel pipe end in order to prevent damage to the O-ring sealing surface. Use a clean shop towel in order to wipe off the male tube ends. Inspect all the connections for dirt and burrs. Clean or replace the components and assemblies as required.
