Assemble the EN-50717 Valve Spring Compressor components (1) with the EN-50717 - 20 Valve Spring Compressor Adapter Set (2).
- Install the assembled EN-50717 Valve Spring Compressor components on the cylinder head.
- WARNING:
Compressed valve springs have high tension against the valve spring compressor. Valve springs that are not properly compressed by or released from the valve spring compressor can be ejected from the valve spring compressor with intense force. Use care when compressing or releasing the valve spring with the valve spring compressor and when removing or installing the valve stem keys. Failing to use care may cause personal injury.
NOTE:- Many internal engine components will develop specific wear patterns on their friction surfaces.
- Components MUST be separated, marked, or organized in a way to ensure the installation to their original location and position. Take precautions in order to prevent interchanging of parts.
- Tag or mark each part immediately when removed. Indicate the location, direction, or orientation when necessary.
Align the EN-50717 Valve Spring Compressor (1) with the first valve spring retainer (2) to be removed.
- Using EN-50717 Valve Spring Compressor (1), compress the valve spring.
- Valve Stem Key (4) - Remove [2x]
- Slowly release the EN-50717 Valve Spring Compressor from the valve spring assembly.
- Valve Spring Retainer (2) - Remove
- Valve Spring (3) - Remove
- CAUTION:
Do not damage the valve guide. Remove any burrs that have formed at the key groove by chamfering the valve stem with an oil stone or a file.
Using EN-840 Pliers/Remover, remove the valve stem oil seal (1). Discard all used seals and replace with new.
- Intake Valve (2) - Remove
- Repeat the procedure for the remaining intake valves and exhaust valves.
- Remove the EN-50717 Valve Spring Compressor components.
