Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition - On/Vehicle - In Service Mode
  2. Verify there are no DTCs set related to the following component/system:
    • B34 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor
    • B65 Intake Manifold Pressure and Air Temperature Sensor
    • B75C Multifunction Intake Air Sensor
    • B131D Exhaust Temperature Sensor 4
    • Q14 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve
    • Q17 Fuel Injector
    • Go to next step: If a related DTC is not set 
  3. Verify the scan tool parameter: Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 3, 4 = The value should be within the range listed in the table: Temperature Versus Resistance (B131A Exhaust Temperature Sensor 1) , or Temperature Versus Resistance (B130B Exhaust Gas Recirculation Temperature Sensor 2) , or Temperature Versus Resistance (B130A Exhaust Gas Recirculation Temperature Sensor and B131B, B131C Exhaust Temperature Sensor 2, 3)
    • If not in the specified range 

      Replace the appropriate component: Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 3, 4

    • Go to next step: If within the specified range 
  4. Verify the following conditions do not exist:
    • If a condition exists 

      Repair as necessary

    • Go to next step: If no condition exists 
  5. Perform the scan tool function: CONTROL MODULE REFERENCE .
    • If the procedure was not successful 

      Replace the component: Exhaust Particulate Filter

    • Go to next step: If the procedure was successful 
  6. All OK.
