Engine Component Description: Crankshaft
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
The crankshaft is a hardened, forged steel design with 4 main bearings. Crankshaft thrust is controlled by the upper portion of the number 3 main bearing. The crankshaft position reluctor wheel is pressed onto the rear of the crankshaft in front of the rear main journal. A micro encapsulated adhesive is used on the reluctor wheel to aid retention. This crankshaft is internally balanced.
