Circuit/System Verification

- Ignition - On/Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Verify there are no Permanent DTCs set - Refer to: Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle
- If a Permanent DTC is set
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. - For each Permanent DTC set.
- Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets - Refer to: Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle
- Go to next step: If the DTC is not set & The Permanent DTC cleared
- Refer to step 3
- Go to next step: If a Permanent DTC is not set
- Verify the scan tool parameter:
- Boost System Monitor - Since Diagnostic Trouble Codes Cleared
- Catalytic Converter Monitor - Since Diagnostic Trouble Codes Cleared = Complete or Not Supported
- Evaporative Emission Monitor - Since Diagnostic Trouble Codes Cleared = Complete or Not Supported
- Exhaust Aftertreatment Monitor - Since Diagnostic Trouble Codes Cleared
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve/Camshaft Position Monitor - Since Diagnostic Trouble Codes Cleared = Complete or Not Supported
- Exhaust Gas Sensor Monitor - Since Diagnostic Trouble Codes Cleared
- Fuel System Monitor - Since Diagnostic Trouble Codes Cleared = Complete or Not Supported
- Oxygen Sensor/Heated Oxygen Sensor Monitor - Since Diagnostic Trouble Codes Cleared = Complete or Not Supported
- Oxygen Sensor Heater Monitor - Since Diagnostic Trouble Codes Cleared = Complete or Not Supported
- Particulate Filter Monitor - Since Diagnostic Trouble Codes Cleared = Complete or Not Supported
- If not the specified state
Refer to: Inspection/Maintenance Complete System Set Procedure
- Go to next step: If the specified state
- All OK.
NOTE:
Many DTC related repairs will instruct the technician to clear the DTC information. Clearing the DTC will reset the I/M System Status monitors to Incomplete. Performing the I/M Complete System Set Procedure will set each of the I/M System Status monitors to Complete.
