Circuit Description
K20 Engine Control Module The control module controls a series of actuators to ensure optimal engine performance. The control module does this by reading values from a variety of sensors, interprets the data and adjusts the engine actuators accordingly.
Q17 Fuel Injector Fuel injectors are solenoid valves that inject fuel either into the intake system or directly into the cylinder. The amount of fuel injected depends on the length of the electrical pulse that is applied.

{Active Fuel Injector Tester} Fuel Injector Balance Test

The Active Fuel Injector Tester and adaptors connect to the engine control module harness connectors. The tool tests the following component(s):

The Active Fuel Injector Tester displays step by step instructions to determine pressure drop of each fuel injector.

{Scan Tool} Fuel Injector Balance Test

The scan tool fuel injector balance test is performed while the engine is idling. The scan tool control function pressurizes the fuel rail to a predetermined pressure before each fuel injector is pulsed on for a precise amount of time allowing a measured amount of the fuel to be injected. This causes a drop in fuel pressure that is recorded and used to compare each fuel injector.
