Conditions for Setting the DTC

- The ECM detects a temperature difference at power-up that indicates the ECT sensor is 50° C (122° F) warmer than the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor and the outside air temperature (OAT) sensor.
OR
- The ECM detects the temperature at power-up of the ECT sensor is between 16° C (61° F) and 50° C (122° F) warmer than the IAT and the OAT sensor, and NO engine block heater was detected.
OR
- The ECM detects a temperature difference at power-up that indicates the ECT sensor is 16° C (61° F) colder than the IAT sensor and the OAT sensor.
OR
- The ECM detects a temperature difference at power-up that indicates the ECT sensor is 16° C (61° F) warmer than the IAT sensor, and the OAT sensor, and the engine cranked for greater than 10 s without starting.
