Component Testing

Q40 Turbocharger Bypass Solenoid Valve

  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector: Q40 Turbocharger Bypass Solenoid Valve
  3. Test for 5 to 15 ohms between the test points: Control terminal 2 & Ignition terminal 1
    • If not between 5 and 15 ohms 

      Replace the component: Q40 Turbocharger Bypass Solenoid Valve

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance 
  4. All OK.

Q42 Turbocharger Wastegate Solenoid Valve

  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector: Q42 Turbocharger Wastegate Solenoid Valve
  3. Test for 10 to 20 ohms between the test points: Control terminal 2 & Ignition terminal 1
    • If not between 10 and 20 ohms 

      Replace the component: Q42 Turbocharger Wastegate Solenoid Valve

    • Go to next step: If between 10 and 20 ohms 
  4. All OK.
