Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition - On/Vehicle - In Service Mode
  2. Verify DTC P0016, P0017, P0018, P0019, P0090, P0091, P0092, P00C8, P00C9, P00CA, P0111, P0112, P0113, P0116, P0117, P0118, P0128, P0192, P0193, P0335, P0336, P0340, P0341, P0345, P0346, P0365, P0366, P0390, P0391, P0628, P163A is not set.
    • Go to next step: If none of the DTCs are set 
  3. Engine - Idling
  4. Verify the scan tool parameter: Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor 1 = 3.0 to 8.2 MPa (435 to 1, 200 PSI)
    • If not between 3.0 and 8.2 MPa (435 and 1, 200 PSI) 

      Refer to: Circuit/System Testing

    • Go to next step: If between 3.0 and 8.2 MPa (435 and 1, 200 PSI) 
  5. Perform the scan tool control function: Fuel Rail Pressure - Increase & Decrease

    Verify the scan tool parameter: Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor 1 = The value should change with each command.

    • If the value does not change 

      Refer to: Circuit/System Testing

    • Go to next step: If the value changes 
  6. Perform the scan tool function: Clear the DTCs.
    7. WARNING:

    Road test a vehicle under safe conditions and while obeying all traffic laws. Do not attempt any maneuvers that could jeopardize vehicle control. Failure to adhere to these precautions could lead to serious personal injury and vehicle damage.

  7. Accelerate the vehicle with wide open throttle.

    Verify that no DTC listed in the DTC Descriptor Category is set.

    • If any DTC listed in the DTC Descriptor Category is set 

      Refer to: Circuit/System Testing

    • Go to next step: If none of the DTCs listed in the DTC Descriptor Category is set 
  8. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.

    Verify the DTC does not set.

    • If the DTC sets 

      Refer to: Circuit/System Testing

    • Go to next step: If the DTC is not set 
  9. All OK.
